Ambassador of the Quarter, Fall 2016

shasonta-delmage-new-photoI love helping people feel their best through high quality food and intentional movement. This love led me to switch careers in my late 30s from marketing communications to fitness and nutrition. I currently manage CrossFit X and love seeing people achieve things they never thought they could! It’s all about providing a supportive, community-driven environment where people feel safe and want to push themselves to try new, amazing things.
I became an ambassador because I want to get to know my local community, meet other businesses and people right in my backyard, help further the Chamber’s mission, and I increase pride in our community and enhance and support quality economic growth.
Shasonta was chosen by her fellow Ambassadors as the Ambassador of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2016.

REAL ESTATE CERTIFICATION ACHIEVEMENT
Bliss Goldstein has competed the certification process to be an SRES: Senior Real Estate Specialist. During the training topics such as senior proofing the home, finding senior loan programs, and uncovering other sources just for seniors were discussed. In addition, sensitivity towards older seniors, and the families that are trying to help them transition from their homes, was an important part of the training. The Goldsteins look forward to helping more families with their elder housing needs, whether that is to sell the home and/or to help them downsize into a smaller one. The training also extended to working with Baby Boomers.

TWIN SISTERS CREAMERY WINS AWARD
The 2016 Washington Artisan Cheesemakers Festival showcases a wide array of artisan and farmstead cheeses made in Washington. “People’s Choice Awards” were given to three cheeses at the event. 2nd place was awarded to Ferndale’s Twin Sisters Creamery for their Whatcom Blue cheese.

REMODEL AT OUTLAWS SALOON
After closing for a week, Outlaws Saloon re-opened with the same owner, but a fresh look. Patrons now have access to a private lounge away from the bar and main seating area that features couches, table and a TV. The bathrooms were also were renovated and the back of the bar was redone with lighted shelving.

13th Annual Street Festival Around the Corner

Fingers at the Ferndale Chamber are crossed this year, in hopes that no wild weather hits during the weekend of August 26-27.

The Ferndale Street Festival is headed into its 13th year of entertaining over 10,000 patrons with a Kid’s Street, car show, over 120 vendors, live music and beer garden.

Last year in a history making fashion, the Festival had to close on Saturday due to large gusts of wind.

This year it is back and better than ever with a “Main Street USA” themed Kid’s Street and petting zoo sponsored by Phillips 66 Ferndale Refinery! Outlaws Saloon is also making a splash by providing a dunk tank!

Live music will be provided by Exit 266 and Sunset Superman Friday evening and all day Saturday the stage will be bumping with music from Church Road Band, Electric Soul Society, Nashville Northwest and headliner, Blindfate.

There is always something for everyone at the Ferndale Street Festival, so make sure to put it on your calendar.

We are still accepting vendor applications until July 31 or late fee will apply.

Find out more by visiting the Ferndale Street Festival website.
